A Modern Barn on 65 Acres Outside Durham

Carolina Grove is a modern, airy barn venue in Hillsborough, about 20 minutes from downtown Durham, set on 65 acres of woods and fields. Ceremonies happen outdoors on a flagstone aisle with a wooded backdrop. The 4,600-square-foot barn has soaring ceilings, dimmable chandeliers, a mezzanine, a downstairs lounge and bar, and a wall of rolling glass doors that open onto a 1,440-square-foot covered veranda. A string-lit cocktail grove rounds it out. The barn seats about 220, and up to 300 with the mezzanine and veranda.

• Plan for evening temperatures: The veranda has heaters, so outdoor cocktail hour works well into fall.
