A 1914 Landmark in Raleigh's City Market

Market Hall sits in historic City Market near Moore Square in downtown Raleigh. Built in 1914 as Raleigh's first farmers market, it has been a furniture store, a craft brewery and, since the 1990s, a catering and event space. Today it has two ballrooms under one roof, each with its own bridal suite. The Market View Room has white exposed brick, high ceilings and lots of natural light, and seats up to 350 with a dance floor. The Park View Room seats up to 150 and has an upstairs loft, a black iron staircase and windows on two walls. Catering is in-house.

Why We Love DJing at Market Hall

We've DJ'd at Market Hall, and its white brick and big windows make it one of our favorite downtown parties. Here's how a Discoboxx wedding comes together there:

  • Ceremony in the loft or on the cobblestones: The Park View loft and the streets outside both make great ceremony spots. We bring wireless ceremony sound to either.

  • Cocktail hour: Music that matches the downtown energy without drowning out conversation.

  • A packed dance floor: Brick and high ceilings make for a great party room. We tune the sound to the space so it's full on the dance floor and comfortable at the tables.

  • Lighting: Uplighting on white brick is one of the best looks in Raleigh.

Planning Tips for Market Hall

  • Know which room you're in: The Market View Room fits most weddings of 150 to 250; the Park View Room suits 75 to 125. Your guest count drives the setup.

  • Plan your photos outside: The cobblestone streets of City Market are right outside. Build time for them into your timeline.

  • Add a photo booth: Downtown weddings love a photo booth. Our sister brand Hotshot can be added to any Discoboxx package.

Getting married at Market Hall? Check your date and see pricing. Discoboxx wedding packages include ceremony and cocktail hour sound and your DJ as MC, with no travel fee in the Triangle.
