The Upchurch
A Restored 1905 Estate in Cary
The Upchurch is a historic wedding venue in Cary, built in 1905 and carefully restored on a seven-acre property. The grand Queen Anne Main House and patio are perfect for getting ready and cocktail hour. Ceremonies happen on the Magnolia Lawn, ringed by its namesake trees, and receptions move into the Conservatory, with timber ceiling trusses and a wall of windows overlooking the pond. The venue holds up to about 225 guests and has in-house catering.
Why We Love DJing at The Upchurch
We've DJ'd at The Upchurch, and the way the day moves across the property makes it so much fun to play. Here's how we set up:
Ceremony on the Magnolia Lawn: We bring clean, wireless ceremony sound and mics to the lawn so every vow carries without wires in your photos.
Cocktail hour at the Main House: Music follows your guests between the house and the patio while you're off taking photos.
Reception in the Conservatory: The windows and timber trusses look incredible at night with the right lighting, and the room turns into a real dance floor.
Timed transitions: We coordinate with the Upchurch team so each move between spaces happens on time and the energy never drops.
Planning Tips for The Upchurch
Plan a rain backup: Talk with the venue about where the ceremony moves if the weather turns, and we'll set up sound for both.
Lean into golden hour: The pond and lawn are beautiful late in the day. Build your timeline around it.
Light the Conservatory: Uplighting or a dance floor lighting kit makes the most of the room after dark.
